SS 347 is an austenitic steel containing chromium steel columbium, which allows for the elimination of carbide precipitation and intergranular corrosion. The additions of chromium and tantalum that offers higher creep and stress rupture properties. SS 347H is a modification of SS 347 with higher carbon content, to provide improved high-temperature strength and creep properties. Because of high-temperature resistance, it is used for gaskets, expansion joints along with rocket engine and chemical manufacturing.
